about piwi pet portraits

Alison Shaw founded Piwi Pet Portraits in 2018, with the goal being to provide people with an affordable way to appreciate the value of their pets, both while they are alive and after they have crossed the rainbow bridge.

I have two dogs myself, Bella and Major, whom I would not be without.

Nothing beats the love and loyalty that a dog can bring to the family, my job through creating art is to bring out your pet's personality and quirky nature, through the medium of charcoal.

I can also provide a splash of colour to the eyes of animals where this would enhance the artwork.

The artwork fills most of the page and is provided unframed in a mailing tube.

For new clients I require a $50 deposit which is refunded if the artwork is not wanted (this has not happened yet).

I believe art is subjective so if you don't want it, you have no obligation to buy it.
Paper used is quality Fabriano Accademia (thick like cardboard).

To get the ball rolling, email me any photos (the more the better) to piwipetportraits@gmail.com,

and I will advise whether they are suitable, and help you choose the right one for me to use for the drawing.

Best photos are up close of the head of the animal.  I am a portrait artist so I generally

do not draw the whole dog (unless the animal is quite small).

I work from high definition photos, ideally showing the individual hairs on the animal's face.

I can advise you on framing options as I do not frame the drawing myself.

Drawings are sent via mail in a large tube inside a waterproof post bag.

PLEASE NOTE: I ONLY WORK FROM APPROVED PHOTOS.

PLEASE NOTE: PHOTOS MUST BE 1 MEGABYTE + IN FILE SIZE.
